Handling of lithium cells and batteries
FRIWO lithium cells and batteries incorporate many safety features to achieve maximum safety.
However, lithium cells and batteries are high energy systems and thus have tobe treated carefully.
Cells that are used in single cell applications generally have to be equipped with a PTC. Cells that are used in a battery assembly do not need this fuse as the battery already contains appropriate safety devices.
Lithium batteries have to be equipped with appropriate safety devices such as blocking diodes and fuses.
Some basic precautions
In any case of handling please note the following:
- Do not short circuit cells and batteries
- Do not incinerate cells and batteries
- Do not disassemble cells and batteries
- Do not charge cells and batteries
- Do not crush or puncture cells and batteries
For further information please ask for our data sheets and our general safety information leaflet.
Transportation of lithium cells and batteries
FRIWO lithium cells do comply with international standards for road, sea, rail and air transportation. Please contact us for more detailed information.
